WMF Art Nouveau Sweetmeat Stand Lady With Flowing Dress Designed By Albert Mayer. This item was designed by Albert Mayer for the well know firm of WMF ( Worttembergische Metallwaremfrabrik) . Mayer was appointed Head of the art studio in 1894 and specialised in depicting beautiful maidens and nymphs with flowing hair etc. This work was illustrated in ‘ The Art Nouveau DomesticMetalwork Catologue 1906. It is a very well know piece however I have looked all over this piece and I cannot find the marks anywhere, in other descriptions I have seen people say it got covered by the screws putting this delightful lady together that is for you to decide. She is wonderful.
