Wonderful matched pair of trumpet vases. One by the great Harry Stinton C1917 shape G923 height 6inches and one by the wonderful John Stinton c1923 shape G923 height 6 inches. Both showing highland cattle.
Interesting Fact: The Stinton’s although famous for painting highland cattle, amongst other things, had never seen a highland cattle, nor indeed ever been to Scotland, all their painting were done from postcards. The postcards all showed the cattle in deep grass so they didn’t know what their hooves looked like so you will never see the cattle’s hooves on a Stinton piece of porcelain. Stock number 501
